Leadership coaching is a confidential, one-to-one partnership that helps you lead more effectively. It will improve how you make decisions, communicate, handle pressure and bring people with you. Unlike a training course, it’s built entirely around you: your role, your challenges and the results you’re trying to achieve. I work with leaders at every level, from newly promoted managers to senior executives, and tailor each session to where you are now and where you want to get to.

I am Michael Vincent, founder of Strategic Goal Management. I have led at a senior level myself, so I understand the realities of leading people under pressure, and I coach from experience rather than theory.

    What is Leadership Coaching?

    Leadership coaching is a structured, results-focused partnership held regularly over time that develops your leadership capability. We work on the things that make the biggest difference in your role: clearer decision-making, stronger communication, managing difficult people and situations, building confidence, and leading through change.

    It is tailored to you rather than delivered off the shelf. That is the main difference from generic management training. Everything we discuss stays confidential, and I am happy to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement if that helps.

    Leadership Coaching vs Executive Coaching

    The two overlap, and the terms are often used interchangeably, but there’s a useful distinction.

    Leadership coaching

    Supports leaders at any level, from emerging managers stepping up for the first time through to senior leaders. The focus is developing leadership capability wherever you are on that journey.

    Executive coaching

    Executive coaching is aimed specifically at those at the top: C-suite, directors and senior leaders carrying significant organisational responsibility, where the challenges are more strategic and the stakes higher.

    Training teaches general skills to a group. Leadership coaching is one-to-one and built around you, your role, your challenges and your goals, so it tends to create faster, more lasting change.

    No. I coach leaders at every level, from first-time managers to senior executives. If your challenges are specifically at C-suite level, executive coaching may be the better fit.

    It depends on your goals. Some leaders work with me for a focused three to six months, others prefer an ongoing partnership. We agree what suits you in your first consultation.
